Peter, you, like a lot of men, must be happy that beards and scruffy faces are so the STYLE these days.
It took me a while to adjust to the look, but I like it now, the scruffy faces BUT NOT THE LONG BEARDS. Sorry, Peter.

The lady from ironbark keeps telling me I'm scruffy and adjusts things with scissors. Me; look how much money I save on razors. Thus I never have had a really long beard.
