Hump day - hope everyone has had a good week thus far. Weather has been nice here is Georgia. Cool at night and warm, sunny days. Hope Rich is having nice weather up in Tennessee on his trip.

Here are a couple more from Bosque del Apache. Only a little over a month before we get back out there. These photos were taken outside the refuge, at a favorite spot for photographers to gather to try to get the sunset and the birds settling in for the night. I think I posted a photo of the photographers and all the tripods. This shot is of the light, which was fantastic. Talk about the golden hour, this afternoon sure lived up to that.  The other image is a close up of a Roadrunner, one of our favorite birds to see out west. I didn't realize how much color they had until I took a photo and enlarged it a bit.

Thanks for starting the Daily, Don – and for doing it with style.

Wonderful golden light in the first, and an excellent portrait of the roadrunner.

I have no new photos to share because I've been busy setting up my Flickr account and uploading photos to it. Been trying to limit my uploads to only the best of my work (maybe 4 on a 5-point scale). As of last night I have 5 albums and 26 different photos, and I can see adding maybe 2 more albums and 50 or so more photos.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Good morning Dave. You should put some of those photos, or the link to them, on the Member Galleries forum. I need to add some more myself.

I have tried linking to my Flickr photos but Flickr has messed up the settings and has deemed all of my photos as adult content. This means links to my photos on Flicker don't work (when someone clicks on a link no photo is displayed. Just a Flickr notice about Adult Content - that's somewhat embarrassing), and I am also unable to join Flickr groups.

Good morning Don & Dave,
I like the lighting on that first picture, Don. That bird looks like he means business too.

Here's a shot I took with my cell while out mushrooming last week.
The tide was high but this gull managed to find a small piece of land to perch on.
I call it "Gull Island".

OMG, that is terrible that you cannot join FLICKR groups. Is there a way to contact someone and get that cleared up.  That is just NOT right.
LORELL

Hi guys,
Don, the Roadrunner is awesome. Is it hard to get them to stand still to take their photo? What lens were you using? The details are amazing.

Lorell, I can join groups. But when I try to add a photo to a group I get error messages: 1) most of the time they mention "adult content" (and of course I have uploaded nothing of the sort); or 2) sometimes it's something vague about breaking the group's rules.

I can not find a Flickr customer service number. Apparently the only way to get help is to find HELP on he website and then explain what isn't working for you. I have done that and have gotten some responses (it seems to me that it's a volunteer group of Flickr members who respond, not Flickr employees), but many of the responses didn't really address my issue, so I'm still stuck.

Yes, it's a relief to be on a site without ads. Most other sites are a cesspool of ads - I despise the marketing industry. - if it's not illegal phone calls, when online it's all about invasion of privacy.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lorell, I shot that Roadrunner with my 150-600mm Sigma telephoto on the Nikon D500. Great combination even if it is heavy and bulky. As I remember, I took the photo from inside the automobile. The birds typically will run a bit, then stop, then run, etc. This one was on the side of the road in the NWR.

I have a Flickr account but haven't used it much. I need to look into that. I like how Peter uses it to show images in the gallery, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet. All I can do so far is post a link... more research needed.

"Gull Island" - Nice. Smile

Dave, https://www.flickrhelp.com/hc/en-us/arti...or-Account

Don, what I do is this.
I go to the image I want and then select; view all sizes.
This takes one to a page where there are a list of sizes.
Usually I select 1024, because my browser automatically selects the 768x1024.

Then, I mouse over the image and use right click (or the control key on a Mac) then select copy image link. The posting of the image link here is done by surrounding the image link with the img] tags. Same as I did with your landscape image in your photos thread.
Alternatively, there is a download link at the top of the page which instantly downloads the image. You can use this link by deleting the _d from the download link. It then becomes the same image link as the mouseover gives.

Don, I love the light in your sunset scenery shot. That is a fantastic telephoto head shot of the road runner.

Quint shows up with a marvellous gull island photo. Good to see you are still with us.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
