Middle of The Week Greetings to All!
Look like a rainy day here; on and off drizzle.
Not much going on. I put a quilt on the frame yesterday and got it finished
but I'm not sure I like the final quilting.
I will re-evaluate it today.

This is from the Botanical Garden.
Sorry if I posted it already (I can't remember)

Good Morning, Patty.
Those are beautiful orange orchids at the base of what looks like a palm tree. Thanks for brightening up an over cast morning.

Stahl’s automotive was a big hit yesterday. I was surprised to see so many visitors. The museum is finally getting the recognition it deserves. They had another new car yesterday, the original car from the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, you never know what you will find at Stahl’s. I have a photo on my phone and will share it later.

Everyone was pretty tired yesterday. We are resting today. Hopefully, all we be ready to visit the Henry Ford Museum tomorrow. If not that is okay too.

Be back later with a photo.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Car.
This is one of several car built for the 1968 movie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

For the 1968 film, six cars were created, including a fully functional road-going car with UK registration GEN 11. This car was designed by the film's production designer, Ken Adam, and cartoonist and sculptor Frederick Rowland Emett.

The second road version, which only appears in 12 seconds of the movie, is on display at the Stahls Automotive Foundation in New Baltimore, Michigan. This car differed from the others as the grille-supports were horizontal instead of vertical, and the steering wheel sat higher on the dashboard. It was used for filming inside the Castle with a mechanism to make it look like it was driving itself. It was also in the scene before the railroad bridge.

That's very nice, damar. Orange & green are great together, and the grayish palm trunk sets them off well.

Lorell, although I'm not a fan of the movie, that car is exquisite. Expertly captured, as usual.

Right after I watered a small patch of Vinca yesterday, the sun broke through to highlight them...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

That is pretty cool, Lorell!
I love those 2 piece wheel hubs!
Very nice photo!!!
I don't think I ever saw the movie!

Hi Dave!
That is a pretty vinca photo! I love those!
Is vinca the same flower as "periwinkle"?

Quick ipad photo (looks soft)
I'll get a real camera photo later.

Patty, a beautiful flower arrangement!
An amazing quilt! Good job!

Lorell, what a great piece of history to have! A neat car! I would love to see that museum! Six cars and this one only 12 seconds of fame. Unreal!

Dave, love it, the water drops really make it shine!

damar, you asked if Vinca and Periwinkle are the same flower. Although it's hard to tell given the lax way common names are thrown around, it appears that they are the same.

This particular plant has lasted for 10 - 20 years (and looks like it's good for another 10 years), in a less than ideal spot, with poor soil, and with little care: no fertilizer and a bit of water sporadically. Quite a hardy survivor.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Dave! I thought so! I remember in Florida they thrived in un mown patches of sidewalk and curbside grass. Some of them are pink, cornflower blue and the pretty white.

Hi, Patty! Lovely orchids! Wish it would rain here! Our crops are dying for lack of rain. Soooo dry!! I'm hoping for rain on Saturday, but when the clouds get near us, they disappear! Pretty quilt!! Love all the colors!!
Lorell, I just watched that movie a few days ago! I love that car. Don't we wish we had it? And it really worked? No, wait. Just imagine our skies if we did! And car accidents might drop on our heads. Never mind. Be careful what we wish for. Great photo.
Love the water droplets, Dave! Pretty vinca!
