Nearing the end of another week and month. How has March passed so quickly?

This photo (from 4 days ago) looks as if it was taken in the dark and using a flash. But no - the sun had just risen past the roofs of the houses to the east and lit this small rose bush...

Somehow the light made the colors seem unrealistic, as if the subject had been painted with a very basic palette of poster paints. So maybe not realistic, but that's OK. And I like shapes and curves and, yes, even the colors.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Very nicely done Dave. I like the use of negative space.

I went downtown yesterday with my new to me Lumix point and shoot to better familiarize myself with it and came back with a few images. I think I am going to like this camera as a daily carry.

Good day all!

Dave, I agree with your critique of your photo. Well done, the lighting is awesome as is the composition. As Don said, the negative space is a plus!. For me, I have a feeling of peace when I view it.

Don, Awesome photos with the new camera! Great composition and exposure on them both! The street scene was a good choice for B&W, nice perspective!

Here is one from a trip to Boston and Cape Cod, 2015. There is a story.

After a long day of travel from SD to Boston the 10 travelers from my hometown went to  Waxy O'Connors to relax, We hoisted a few, had a meal and bonded together. We decided to form a club and call it the Boston Association of Rebels or the B.A.R. club. From that day forward whenever any of the group travels together (which is often) we get together at a bar, hopefully an Irish Pub, clink glasses and socialize. Long Live the B.A.R.!

I photoshopped in the B.A.R letters and made business cards for everybody. The last trip we had was to the Smoky Mountains and Nashville this past October and we had 6 of us.

Thanks Don and Rich.

Two more good ones Don. I especially like the first: interesting subject, solid composition, pleasing colors, good values and sharpness.

Rich - outstanding job of adding the B.A.R. text. It's great that you all keep in touch. I regret that I've lost touch with my high school and college friends.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
