GREETINGS GROGU, I mean Michael.
Looks like you are enjoying your new lens, an f1.4, that is nice.
Thanks for starting out daily, Michael.

I was messing around with the free version of the Digital Art Painting software that I may think to buy.  Why not, right?  Here is how I figure it.  I am not paying a $10/month fee for my OLD but loyal Photoshop and Lightroom suite software.  So, I can afford more software that I do not have to pay a monthly subscription fee for, correct?  And you all know how I love to play around  with my images.

Here is one I did last evening.  Several months ago, I share a photo similar to this one, but from a different spot on the bridge.  I ran this through DAP last night an came out with a vision that I was pretty happy with.  Hopefully this white stuff will be a thing of the past, but you never know about those things here in Michigan.

Have a good HUMP day, all.

Michael, I'm thinking that you are gonna love that lens.

Hi Lorell. That's an impressive image. I did a Google search for the software but couldn't find it. What is the exact name of the software and who makes it?

BTW, I think we have the same opinion of monthly subscription software charges; personally I hate them, but it's a business model that seems to be taking over.

I hope you folks can stand yet another rose photo. This one from a few weeks ago of a delicately colored blossom...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Sorry, Dave, the name of the software is Dynamic Auto-Painter. I am still using the free version.

Dave, that is such a pretty pastel color. It looks so good with the soft OLIVE GREENS in the background. I like the patches of light areas too that look like they are a shade similar to that of the peachy rose. The colors are a the perfect combination.

I would have removed those TINY little specs in the flower's upper left side.
Please let me share with you my philosophy.
I watched a webinar last evening about Creative Photography and the presenter, Mollie Isaacs, said a very interesting thing about Painters and Photographers.

She said that Painters add things to their canvas to make the Painting better where Photographers must remove things from their photos to make the image better. Either you clone things out, like your tiny dots that do not contribute anything positive to the composition except ruin the appearance of a perfect rose, or you zoom in on the subject of your composition to remove unwanted distractions. I hope that I am not being too blunt.

There is a fellow at our club who took a great photo of the dirt road in front of his farm house in rural southern Michigan with snow baring trees on both sides of the road hanging over cedar plank stacked railed fences. It was a beautiful shot but it had a garbage pail over on one of the sides When asked why didn't you clone out the garbage pail, he responded that he wanted to make it look natural. The garbage pail was an eye-sore. No one would have missed it if it weren't there, but EVERYONE SAW THAT IT WAS THERE.

I know, or hope, that you don't mind my input. IT is a minor detail, but I noticed it immediately.
And let me finish by asking you this. If you were going to print this and hang it on a wall, would you leave in the tiny dots?

Greetings all!
Lovely lens! I gotta quit watching Paranormal shows. I don't think I would like having him stare at me all day!

Lorell, excellent treatment of an already good photo. Just love the "S" curve walkway! The overhanging branches with snow reminds me of something a bride would walk through on her wedding day!

Dave, I do not buy into programs that charge a monthly fee. If they charge a buy me fee and then do upgrades once in a while for $20.00 they could make money. Lovely Rose!

Had a little rain yesterday with the temps right at freezing but didn't have any problems.

Lorell, thank you for your C&C; of course I don't mind your "blunt" comments. One thing we don't have enough of on this site that Don has generously created and maintains for us, and need more of, is IMO the valuable C&C from the skilled photographers here. For me it is always welcome.

Also, thanks for the name of the software. I'm interested in it and will look into it.

Rich, thank you. I'm afraid that based on my rains the past few days you and those further east are in for more rain and/or snow.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

That is what they have been forecasting, however it appears the worst of it will be south of us tonight and tomorrow!

Speaking of rain. We just got our first rain of the year. 30mm.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
