HEY THERE.
DH and I have been up at the trailer since Monday afternoon. The air quality conditions due to the forest fires in Canada restricted our outside activities so it was a relatively quiet three days up north. The weather was good but when you are not supposed to breathe the air outdoors...oh well, no sense staying cooped up in a TIN Trailer when the temps were going into the 80's. Besides, we don't usually like to be in the campground over the 4th of JULY holiday. Too much noise, partying, drinking, yelling, off-road vehicles whizzing around, etc. for our taste. We like peace and quiet so we can listen to the birds chirping and the breeze blowing. I am sure you all read that Detroit had the worst air quality on Wednesday in the WHOLE-WIDE WORLD! That is nothing that we should be boasting about, but last night's sunset was magnificent. It was a HUGE bright ORANGE ball in the sky. Unfortunately, we were in the car and I missed taking a shot of it. I even took some photographs one morning. They are still in my camera, but I think I have some that are good enough to share. Dave, thanks for starting the daily with the SOLO ROSE. It's clever how the stem is in the middle but the rose veers off to the right ending up in a perfect 3rds location. It was good to see Patty again. I bet that was good pizza at that bar. It is a shame how many places are no longer around due to a variety of reasons. It is hard to stay in business, people aren't eating out as much as they used to and retailers have to compete with online purchases. What is on the horizon, I wonder. Peter, the close-up of the ground growth is so really cool and yes, artistic. It actually had some mood to it. I felt I was on the forest floor right next to you when you shot it. Don, I hope you are staying hydrated on your bike trip. Looking forward to hear the details and see the photos. I liked your BLUE abandoned vehicle.

I'm no stranger to bushfire smoke pervading everywhere. I can feel sympathy for those in the smoke from Candian fires but at the same time I'm still shouting when will we learn. When will we think of what we have done to our poor mother, as Jim Morrison said; stabbed her with knives and tied her with fences and dragged her down.
We only have one earth. You caught that rose in it's final stages Dave. Just before it starts dropping petals. I like that aspect. It shows the frailty of flowers.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Hi all. Friday morning here... I pop over and start a daily for Friday if it hasn't been started yet.
Another nice image Dave. You should consider publishing a photo book of your flowers. Hi Lorell. I don't think we are too much affected from the wildfires in Canada but I can sympathize from seeing it all on the news. Right you are Peter - but sadly I don't think we will ever learn.

It seems to be the inescapable truth.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Thanks Lorell, MFI, and Don.
