It is all looking very spartan. Smile It is what my house needs after more than forty years.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

I'd say neat and uncluttered, open and inviting. Very nice.

From what I read this morning, it seems that Lorell may have gotten a late blast of wintry conditions,

Still without post-worthy new photos, I went to my archives (2015-10-10) for a photo I like. I had converted it to grayscale, added a tone to suggest an old photo, and did the other usual adjustments. Yesterday I re-cropped it, toned down brightness in a couple of spots that were distracting (his socks and the plastic bucket were reading as almost pure white), and cloned put some litter on the ground. The photo reminds me of my grandfathers, both of whom were avid and skilled fisherman.

Ditto for what Rich said. It is fun to drag out the oldies but goodies and apply a new twist. That sepia works really well here. If you wanted to, you could remove the bucket which is the only thing I find to be intrusive. I love the cane it adds to the feeling of being old and frail.

Grant, thanks for taking us along on your remodeling journey and showing us the finished product. You and your wife are great decorators. You could start your own company. I love how everything looks clean, tidy, and modern. Are you happy with how everything turned out?

Lorell,
Thank you for the kind words and complements. We have lived in 8 homes. We redid kitchens in every one. Each challenge spoke to us & for those willing to listen will be rewarded by a design fitting for each and every property.
We are blessed that our tastes are similar. Wait a full year and live in a property throughout all 4 seasons
We have more painting and more detailing to do.

Thanks Rich & Lorell.

Lorell, I think you are right about the bucket. I was too lazy to remove it.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
