Dave, Sorry to hear of your sleeping woes....no naps today!
I agree with you Dave. The color one is nearly a B&W with a touch of color to add interest. For starkness, go with the sepia.
Here is a shot of San Francisco circa 2006. Center is Market Street. Bridge center right is San Francisco-Oakland bay Bridge. Golden Gate Bridge out of sight far left.
This waas on a bus tour of California we took. I spent two years there on an aircraft carrier home port across the bay in Alameda.
Thank you Rich. I suppose subconsciously I was going for starkness; fortunately, both versions have plenty of it.
Nice capture of Frisco. What was your vantage point?
Thank you Grant. I must admit that I didn't realize the "back to back" story you mentioned. To my mind and eye, it was more a commentary of the third-rate employee break area this business provided. Employees used it as a smoking area, quite close to two No Smoking signs that are outside the frame of the image.
Lovely image of conditions that I'm sure you are tired of. Mother Nature needs to discipline Jack Frost to end his unwelcome behavior.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I was going to say something about the back to back aspect of the chairs in the 'lounge' but declined. Now that I see it was adjacent to no smoking signs I now see the chair arrangement as sentries watching the exits.
I never get to see hoar frost and rime unless I go to the mountains and well, there's no need to go there in the winter so I don't.
Dragged this out of the archives. It's like when the bird paints the picture for you.
