Good Tuesday morning all.
Well, the kids are back in school and I hope it is a good year for all. Time to call my teacher friends and share the good feeling. Our good feeling is that we did NOT have to lay awake all night worrying about the morning and have to go back to work after having the summer off.
Here is a pretty little butterfly that I photographed in the woods up north.
Lorell, I agree with what Quint wrote. That's a very nice photo.
I cut short my morning walk because even at 07:30 it was becoming uncomfortably warm and humid. But I did manage one photo of a day lily. I really liked the light blue at the left so I cropped the image to include it. Perhaps not a good crop for the composition, but I hope that the color interaction makes up for it.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Hello, all!
Two very compelling images today!
I didn't go far, but did take the camera out. Shot the one for the challenge, and of course, my shadow, Gretchen......
Wow...I'm glad I stopped by Today (Wednesday)
Thats a beautiful butterfly capture Lorell! Love the contrasty look of light and shadow which brought out a
defined sense of depth.
Dave, your background colors are subtle but pretty and yes, it made the crop/composition
work well with the lily.
Natalie, that is a beautiful portrait of your "Shadow"! Is she a collie/Shepard mix or a specific breed?
Gorgeous! The little flowers at her feet are a perfect detail too.
Thank you, Steve, Grant and Patty!
Patty, she is all German Shepherd. First time for a long haired one, though.....and just like long haired cats, she gets knots ....and SHEDS! I told my daughter I like the shorter haired shepherds better for that reason. A LOT of brushing and detangling!! Good thing she is good about it. She's a sweetheart. Loves to see new people but likes to bark at them, which scares them, then wants to be petted. Oh, she LOVES to chase the water from a hose.....she will even find the end where ever I hide it and can get it on by herself. She will jump up to catch the water, pretty high, too!!
