Monday, Aug 26, 2024 - Don - 08-26-2024

Good morning all - start of the last week in August.

Son's car still in the body shop. Hard to believe that running over that cast off tire from an 18 wheeler caused over $3000 in damages. And he has a $2500 deductible on his insurance policy.  Guess who gets to pay that? Undecided Anyway, it is supposed to be ready Thursday, so only 3 more days of playing taxi to get him to and from work. Life goes on.

Warm to hot temps have returned to Georgia with highs back into the mid to upper 90's all this week.

Haven't been out with the camera much, so here is a shop from Glasgow, Scotland, taken on a stroll from our hotel. We generally like to avoid cities in favor of the country, but I would have liked to have had a little more time in Edinburgh, Dublin and Glasgow. Afraid that ship has sailed though.

From indications everywhere we are having what is known as an early spring.
Because it has started about twenty days earlier than when spring officially starts.
Often this means a long dry hot summer and judging by the fact that parts of Australia have had the highest ever winter record at 41.6˚C. This looks to be what we are in for. https://theconversation.com/40-c-in-august-a-climate-expert-explains-why-australia-is-ridiculously-hot-right-now-237398

It is a difficult spot to grow things in the rain shadow of the eaves and facing the hot sun side.

Don, PURE DEID VEGAN, indeed. Smile
