TGIF everyone.

Here's a richly colored Day Lily I photographed 2 mornings ago.

I didn't amp up the colors; they are as close to what the camera saw as I could produce.

I wish us all a good weekend.

Great Burst of color, Dave! Good composition!
Very well done.

I just finished a 3rd batch of dried Tabasco (trademark) chiles.
I only planted 2 plants and so far have 3 pint canning jars filled with these small chile pods.
They can be reconstituted or dropped in soup, dutch oven and crock pot recipes or cut open to sprinkle
the seeds over dishes.

Thank you Patty.

Love your peppers photo. That's my kind of food.

My first Poblano pepper has appeared. Still waiting for bell peppers, banana peppers, and 2 varieties of HOT Thai peppers.

Thanks Dave,
Wow you have a nice chile garden going!
I planted some sweet lunch peppers and they did poorly.
They just didn't gain any size and few were carried off and dropped on the ground.
Yosemite Sam Voice: racking frackin varmints!

I grew Thai Hots a few years ago and they were prolific. Not to mention how ornamental they are.
Great photo op!
I have not had luck with Poblanos or anaheims. They don't flesh out. Just skin and seeds mostly.

The peppers above are registered Trademark Tabasco.
Last year I picked them green and bottled them in vinegar for shake-on seasoning.
(popular in the south and easily found on restaurant tables next to the salt and pepper shakers!
(that and Texas Pete Hot Sauce!)
I hope you take photos of your harvest! How do you process them?
I use a dehydrator. at 125(F) it takes about 24 hours.

I'm with Sam: Them racka-frackin [garden] chewin varmint[s]!

Every year I hope for a god crop of Black Krim (my absolute favorite tomato), and every year I am disappointed. I sow enough seeds to grow 3 or 4 healthy plants. They all produce numerous young green tomatoes, many of which start to ripen. But before they are ready to harvest some dang critters take a few bites out of almost every one. I'm lucky if I'm able to harvest 2; some years I got nothing.

Smaller tomatoes (cherry, teardrop, etc.) seem to do better; this year I got a decent crop of tasty Yellow Pear tomatoes, and several plants of two varieties of small dark tomatoes are looking good so far.

I usually have better luck with hot peppers. If I get a good crop of hot peppers I'll dry half of them in a low (200 or less) oven, dice them finely then back in the low oven for a couple more hours. When fully dried Ill grind some into flakes and some into a fine powder. With the other half I may pickle some and reserve the rest for miscellaneous uses – dicing and adding to home-made chili, charring and chopping then into my molcajete (see photo below) with other ingredients (tomatoes, onions, tomatillos, lime juice etc)  for several versions of salsa. If I have jalapenos I may go for cheese-stuffed, bacon-wrapped snacks.

WoW Dave! Flower on fire! Love it! Still life photo is exceptional! All ingredients go together!

Patty, your food matches your outdoor temps....hot!
Looks like a good return on your investment!

Thanks Rich.

Awesome Day Lily shot, Dave.
Lotsa chilli there, Patty.
I sowed some of my home grown Black Krim seed yesterday and today I awoke to find 6.5mm in the rain gauge.
