Tuesday, July 30th, 2024 - Dave - 07-30-2024

Good day folks.

Here's a ladybug taken 3 weeks ago and processed early this morning...

I've been enjoying the Olympics; it has given me a chance to watch sports I seldom see (rugby has been a treat to watch. But I confess that I'm not a fan of all the events: synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics come to mind. And skateboarding and break dancing in the Olympics? That's ludicrous. Meanwhile I've missed seeing some favorites like table tennis and free-style wrestling.

The grandson of an acquaintance (a local artist and former president of the Huntington Beach Art League) made the US diving team.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's women's soccer matches which will determine which teams advance out of group play. The competition so far has brought some surprises, disappointments, overachievers, and the regrettable cheating scandal by one country.

You all have yourselves a good day or evening.

In Australia the glossy ladybirds/beetles (they aren't bugs) are the beneficial insect predators and the matt ones are the plant eating pests.
I do have an album of them on my Flickr. It is aptly titled; Coleoptera.

Yours Dave, is a species I'm unfamiliar with. It is very bright sitting on the browns. Like the blades of dry grasses wrapping the brown stairs of, wood? Very well framed.

Most of my ladybird photos seem to be catching them in the act of hatching a plan to make more ladybird babies to eat more aphids.

Oh and here's another bird photo. This is known as the blue-faced honeyeater but if the lght angle is different, the blue becomes a bright green.
