Another weekend is almost here. I hope it's a safe and productive one for all.

The last photo I posted showed a colorfully sunlit succulent - one of three potted ones that my wife placed temporarily on an overturned plastic trash can in our inner front yard.

Here is another of those three, taken on a different day (yesterday) in a completely different light...

I like the variety of soft greens, complemented by the reds.

Hi Dave,
I will join you and your pretty succulent photo with something I brought back from Florida.
Photo taken with my Velvet Lens Baby.

That's a beauty, Lorell - well spotted and captured!

Dave, The colors, the crop are all pleasing to my eye. You have very pretty succulents around you!!
Lorell, it's amazing what we might miss not looking closely at our surroundings. Great colors!
I lay out in the yard today trying to shoot some bees. Normally we have a lot on our dandelions....today, not one. Grass is wet and it's very windy. Will have to wait for a warmer day.

Those are two real pretty flower and leaf shots.

Here's one I took a while ago of some primroses. I just made a small print of it to see how the colors compared to the photo.
Looks right on to me.

Actually, they are Polyanthus. Wink
or to be more specific; Primula × polyantha, the polyanthus primrose or false oxlip, is a naturally occurring hybrid species of flowering plant in the family Primulaceae.
In Australia we call those polyanthus and we call these primulas [Image: 1180px-Primula_beesiana_in_Dunedin_Botan...den_02.jpg]

I like both leaf shots from Dave and Lorell. The wriggly red edges in Daves shot set the image hues off. Lorell's leaf colours and 3D type shot is awesome.

Haven't done any photography but here's an interesting story for you. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-04-06/native-fish-spangled-perch-swim-across-flooded-barkly-highway-nt/103666948

MFIB,
They are certainly colorful and I see the leaf similarity.

Thanks Natalie & Quint.

Lovely colors in those 2 floral shots, guys.

Dave, the red edges really help! Nice soft light. I like your matte color.

Lorell, Beautiful! Well done!

Natalie, would be tough for me to get up from the ground!

Steve, quite a variety of colors! A real eye candy photo!

Peter, love the purple contrast with the green.

Thank you Rich.

Yes, I was pleased with the softness created by the diffuse light and by the red edges.

Subtle and understated isn't my usual style, but every once in a while I manage to pull it off.
