No photo but wondering if Dave is in the path of Hurricane Hilary?

Thanks for your concern, Rich. But I'm confident we're in no danger. Hilary is weakening rapidly, and the most likely path suggests that the worst of what remains will probably take it east and maybe just south of my location.
Still, we may be in for some heavy rain and strong (but probably not damaging) wind gusts. My immediate area isn't likely to experience flooding because; a) we're a few miles from the coast and slightly elevated so storm surge from the ocean won't be an issue; and b) flooding from runoff is unlikely because we're many miles from higher elevations and our neighborhood sits on solid bedrock. Other areas will be hit harder - apparently mandatory evacuations are in place for numerous areas further inland, and even Santa Catalina Island.
Pippin sure seems worried about it...
