Before I go swimming, I thought I would welcome all to the weekend thread.
We got a lot going on this weekend, including attending a Surprise 80th birthday party today for a friend and a Theatre Play, Honkey Tonk Angels, on Sunday.

Sounds like a busy weekend Lorell. My weekend started last night as I was about to retire for the night. I was at the kitchen sink clearing some dishes with the water running when I heard one of the toilets gurgling. I knew I was about to have a problem as it has happened before. Anyway, rather than going to bed I spent about 30 minutes in the dark with a flashlight making it right. I have it down to a science now.
This morning I washed a load of clothes so I can start organizing and packing for our trip. The flight out of Atlanta to JFK doesn't leave until 6:55 PM Wed so we will leave home around 1 PM because we will park at a hotel close to the airport (cheaper to do that than to park using airport parking), and take the hotel shuttle to the airport. That will take some time and then we have to check our bags, go through security, etc. The flight to JFK is relatively short so no meal, only snacks. We will find (hopefully) some decent food in the airport before boarding. Couple of hours for a layover at JFK followed by a 6 hour flight to Keflavik airport. That flight leaves JFK at 11:30PM and arrives in Iceland at 9:05 AM. It will be a long day.
I spent some time this morning under the sink in the hall bath to get the drain to flow better. A plumbing weekend for me I guess. Anyway, got that done and hopefully I can relax for the remainder of the weekend. Probably will take the motorcycle out after lunch as it is mid 70's and sunny.

Good morning MFI...
I felt like playing around with some of my photo tools this morning. I took a photo with my phone of this structure while in Plains a couple of days ago. Converted to B&W and added a sky with clouds and used Topaz and Luminar to further "enhance". I like this image better than the original, which I just took because I liked the overall structure.
I reckon most folks are busy this weekend. I spent a fair amount of time getting things together and packing yesterday. I am a "lister", so I have a list of everything I think I will need when I travel. Sometimes I still forget something though.

Don, It is fun to read your itinerary. I do not envy the long plane ride but the beauty of the destination should help you during your journey. Hopefully, you can doze off during the flight. Maybe even with the help of a sleep aid. Do you plan on keeping in contact with us for the next ten days? Cell phone pics will be good too. I have no idea if you would even be able to do that. Can you access the internet?
Don, your image has a mysterious glow to it. I like the effect you created. The cloud formations in the background definitely provide additional interest and contrast.
Dave, that is a beauty of a rose. More gorgeous morning light to make it look spectacular.

Lorell, we are not looking forward to the plane ride either. We don't handle those as well as we used to. I think the longest trip by air I ever did was about 23 hours, including layovers. Atlanta to San Diego to a stop over in Hong Kong and finally arrived in Singapore. It was about 2 AM when the plane touched down. Leaving there had a departure time after midnight as well. Still, I really enjoyed my time in Singapore.
I don't know how much I will be on the Internet, but most of the hotels where we are staying have wifi, plus we are activating Iceland coverage for DW's phone. I will have my phone for cell phone photos but probably won't activate coverage ($10 per day, but only if you use it). I think we will be pretty busy as well. We are renting a car and driving the "ring road" all around the island, plus the "Golden Circle". There are geysers, waterfalls, volcanic beaches, a walk on a glacier, interesting geologic formations, a boat ride among floating icebergs, a nature bath in a thermal heated pool, a whale watching trip... well, you get the picture - and probably more information than you wanted. A different hotel every night except for one that we stay 2 nights.
Now I think I will pop over and start the daily for Tuesday if no one else has.
