Tuesday, May 2, 2023 - Luv2shoot - 05-02-2023 I was too tired to do anything after a weekend trip to Cincinnati, Ohio. It was like, get in the car, travel for 4.5 hours, hotel check-in, meet family for a party, go back to the hotel, sleep, go to Holy Communion at church, Party, get in the car, travel for 4.5 hours back home, collapse. We travel more when we go to Florida, but there is no partying in between! That is our excuse for being so exhausted. Well, anyway, it was a good weekend. Great to be with relatives and friends and now safely home. I worked hard on this mediocre shot I took at the Park the other week. I cannot get on the ground and up again without getting my hands dirty from pushing off the ground. So, my low-level photos are really suffering. And I love taking shots from the ground. I had to turn it into a painting to make it presentable. Have a good day all. LORELL RE: Tuesday, May 2, 2023 - Don - 05-02-2023 Good afternoon Lorell - I like it, very surreal looking... A few more from the recent camping trip. Blue flower, blue bird, blue flower. The loon was a surprise as we did not expect to see one. This is either a female or immature male I think. And speaking of camping, I did my first motorcycle camping trip a few days ago. Rode almost 200 miles to the gulf coast, camped near the St. Mark's Wildlife Refuge, stayed one night, rode 200 miles back home. Got a really good seafood dinner to boot. RE: Tuesday, May 2, 2023 - Dave - 05-02-2023 Lorell, I agree with Don: your image has a compelling mysterious look to it. Nice save. Don, three top-notch photos. The bluebird looks alert and active, even when stationary. The blue flower is simply superb. The loon photo combines soft and sharp for a very appealing image. A photo I took days ago of one variety of the so-called African Iris shares some features with your flower photo: a blossom as the clear COI; a soft bokeh-ish background' and a strongly diagonal green stem behind the flower. It's the latest in my continuing quest for good photos of this delicate flower... RE: Tuesday, May 2, 2023 - Luv2shoot - 05-02-2023 Don, lovely light on all three of your subjects in addition to nice shadows, reflections, colors and details. I couldn’t pick a favorite from the group if you asked me. Love that intense blue in the flower, the eye contact and pose of the blue bird and beads of water on the loon. Good for you on “completing your first overnight round trip solo motor bike ride” in recent years. Were you tired after three hours with the wind in your hair? Is that your tent in the background? It appears that you had nice dry conditions. The only thing I see missing is a lounge chair. Did you enjoy the venture? If it were my husband, I would have him calling me every 70 miles or so. DAve, I do believe that that iris likes low light, it ironically shines the brightest in softer light. I do not think you have anything more to prove, but keep those images coming, they are really beautiful. RE: Tuesday, May 2, 2023 - Dave - 05-04-2023 Thank you Lorell. |
