Saturday & Sunday, April 29 & 30, 2023 - Luv2shoot - 04-29-2023

Hello all and welcome to the final weekend and days of April.
Have a little road trip ahead for a Holy Communion party today.
See you all later.

Enjoy the weekend.

Thanks for starting our Weekender, Lorell.

Very pleasing image: great colors. great values, rock-solid composition as usual, and nice selective sharpening vs sharpness.

Yesterday I sowed the last seeds of 14 heirloom tomatoes into large pots. Today I have the expected aches and pains from doing that.

No photos worth sharing in the past week, so here's a nicely colored image of a yellow rose taken 2-1/2 weeks ago...

Lorell, nice pop of color with the blahness of left over fall.

Dave, nothing like a yellow rose to make me break out in "that" song! Beautiful!

Thanks Dave and Rich.
I like the THREE distinct colors in your composition, the yellow rose, the green leaves & background and violet stem. It is a good combination of tones.

I'm pleased that you mentioned the colors. Lorell. I thought they worked well together. I see now that the yellow is a bit too saturated on some areas, and I wish I had noticed and fixed that before posting.

With no new photos the past few days, I revisited one taken in November 2014 that I liked at the time.

I reprocessed it early this morning: flipped it horizontally for a better composition, decreased color saturation about 10% for a gentler effect, toned down the values in a few small areas that seemed to steal attention from the COI, and strengthened the contrast in the COI. I did not add my usual "sharpen for posting" because I thought the subject and light called for a softer mood.

Still stiff and sore after some hard gardening work the past few days, but much better than yesterday. I'll take it easy today: maybe sow more Poblano pepper seeds in a couple of medium-sized pots, but that's about all I have planned.

This is a great addition tot his weekend's thread. I brought home some flowers from the party we went to this weekend. After seeing your macro photo, Dave, I am going to grab those flowers and my macro and take some shots of them.
