Greetings all!
Well the calendar says spring but in the last week we have had 2 summer days we needed the AC, a couple of cold spring days we needed the heat on and now, back to winter. Typical for us. We have had snow and cold up into May.

Thanks for starting the Daily, Rich. I hope your cold winter weather is over for this year.

Speaking of weather, we're having a great day here. The weather station a few blocks from my home says it'll peak at 77 (25 C) - probably 6 degrees lower in the shade and 8 degrees higher in the sun.

If you all can tolerate another floral photo, here's one taken 2 days ago..

I like how the red blossom is nicely framed by the green, with some elements of the green directing the eye to the flower.

C&C is always welcome, so if anyone has suggestions, please don't hesitate.

Dave we have another week of unseasonable temps coming up. You temps sound like paradise!

Awesome exposure Dave! Looks 3D as the darks of the background makes things recede and the bright of the flower makes it come forward. It doesn't hurt that the bottom leaves are pointing to the flower and saying " Look at this!" Well done!

What Rich said....
Rich,
We had snow again.

Thanks guys.

Red flowers against medium to dark green are usually a challenge because the values of the reds and the greens are often nearly the same. In my photo above the red flowers and the lighter green blades are indeed the same value, but they are set against the much darker leaves and shadows. I think this is why the photo works.
