SAT/SUN 11-12 MAR 2023 - Michael - 03-11-2023 Street shot. X TYP 113
RE: SAT/SUN 11-12 MAR 2023 - Dave - 03-11-2023 Nice one, Michael. You are very good and capturing the moods of a cityscape. In this case I have never seen a man look so happy to have a bag of fast food. Still raining lightly; it should stop soon then resume for a couple of hours before ending around 9:00, then remaining cloudy until Sunday. I have no new photos ready to post, so here's one taken on a of brightly sunny day 3 or 4 weeks ago. A small black tray (it's at most 15 inches (38 cm) across) containing a variety of very small succulents that I photograph every once in a while. I wish you all a very good weekend. RE: SAT/SUN 11-12 MAR 2023 - Luv2shoot - 03-11-2023 Michael, if I didn't know better, I think that guy just bought a HAPPY MEAL. Good one, Michael. Dave, What I noticed about your image is the canister with the EIFFEL tower on it. Was that in the house behind the window or just behind the planter? I nice little addition. Off to Swim Aerobics. I really like the gal who teaches us on Saturday. I think this Painted Turtle just got done swimming and is now enjoying a sunbath. Have a great start to your weekend. LORELL RE: SAT/SUN 11-12 MAR 2023 - Dave - 03-12-2023 Lorell, what a fine capture of the turtle; great light, color, and mood. To answer your questions: the flowers and the black tray in my photo are several feet in front of the house and are placed on the seat of a white plastic outdoor lawn chair - there is no real planter there. The Eiffel tower that caught your eye is a metal tin that - if I remember correctly - contained some fancy cookies or crackers. Here's one I took 2 days ago. It interested me because I imagined the conical thin white cap to be the pointed hat (typically colored red) in those charming little paintings of wee garden gnomes that were popular some years ago. And I like the colors and that the overcast skies and light drizzle softened everything. On the other hand, this softening came with a cost - graininess. I intentionally left the sharper small patch of growth just because I thought it did more to add interest to the overall image than it did to distract. I'm probably wrong about this though. RE: SAT/SUN 11-12 MAR 2023 - Rich - 03-12-2023 Michael, you are getting some great street shot candids! With out the Micky D sign this shot would not be as interesting. Lorell is right, he bought a Happy Meal and is even doing a tap dance! Dave, a neat box of succulents. Tin box adds interest! You're right, reminds me of a gnome! A spot of orange in a sea of green! Makes sense to have orange life vests! Grabs your eye! I think the small in focus growth is an eye stopper. Keeps it from going out of the frame. How soon we forget the graineness of ASA 200 or 400 film. Looks fine to me. Cold and windy here today. Gust up to 40-50 MPH and 23 degrees. RE: SAT/SUN 11-12 MAR 2023 - Adamphotoman - 03-12-2023 Michael, B & W suits your capture to a T. Lorell, Your painted turtle almost tells a story. The colour in the Tree trunk is wonderful and the green of the water is great for setting off your subject. Dave, The cool green is difficult work with but you managed quite well. I would like to see a touch more of the growth in the bottom rt corner, but I do think it helps....The chair full of succulents makes for a good subject. Hi Rich I agree with your comment about grain. |
