Tuesday, Nov 29, 2022 - Dave - 11-29-2022

Good morning folks.

I posted an image in the November challenge and have 2 more ready for it, but other than these I have no new photos. So I went back again to February 2017 archives to re-crop and reprocess a shot of a hummingbird at a feeder in the shadows under the eave...

I'm looking forward to today's World Cup soccer games. Today starts the last of the games in group play and the results will determine who moves on to the knockout rounds (meaning a loss eliminates a team from the tournament). Some good matches and some that should be non-competitive, but of course I'm most interested in the US game. We play Iran, and the US must win to advance.

Good Morning, Dave.
I hope that you are having a terrific Tuesday.
I am going to do some sewing today but before I start and get into the groove, I thought I would add a photo of some birds as they were hunting and eating their breakfast off the coast of Anna Maria Island. It is much easier to capture these pelicans than it is for you to capture the hummingbirds that come to your feeder.  So, I totally admire your patience and ability to freeze the brief moments that you have to get images like this.

Here are some happy pelicans as they hunt for breakfast and enjoy the school of fish that must have been in the area.

These fish that go to school are apparently not taught road safety rules.

Nicely captured group of pelicans there, Lorell.

Along with hummingbirds, pelicans are in the top 3 of my favorite birds.

In the 70's, brown pelicans in the bay area of California were unable to hatch eggs due to thinning of the shells from the buildup of DDT in their bodies.
