Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Michael - 10-08-2022 Well, No one has started the weekend yet, so I'll start with a photo that could've been good, but I missed in SO MANY ways.
RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Rich - 10-08-2022 Interesting view point Michael and you know what it needs! What is the device in the hand? Here is a zoom exposure done in 1986 on 35mm film of parts of the Palace. Back then the zooms weren't very smooth so a little shake when I moved it. Done on a tripod of course. RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - damar - 10-08-2022 Hi Michael! Whats wrong with your photo???! You captured an expression and the minion looks like it's in motion. Not all photos have to be tack sharp to convey a thought, emotion or scene. Nothing is missing! Hi Rich! Speaking of motion!!! Wow! That is so cool! I have never tried that! The parallel light beam motion is amazing! Nice work! Nothing great here. Local reservoir earlier today. FujiX100F RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Rich - 10-08-2022 Thanks Patty, give it a try. Would be much easier with todays zoom lens. Nice relaxing scene! Looks like a nice bass lake! RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Don - 10-08-2022 Good evening all. Thanks for starting the weekend thread Michael. I recognized the minion right away. Rich, nice shots. I can't remember exactly how I did the shot I posted Thursday, but I did use a zoom lens. Very calming scene Patty. Here is a close up shot of the Dillingham bridge in Columbus, site of the last battle of the civil war. The original bridge was a covered bridge but was eventually replaced by a concrete bridge in 1911. The original bridge was built by Horace king. We've been watching football today - Georgia beat Auburn pretty handily and my alma mater, UAB, beat Middle Tennessee. Alabama has their hands full with Texas A&M but I doubt I will stay up to see the end of that game. RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Luv2shoot - 10-09-2022 Michael, I too like the image you used to start the weekender. The expression on this guy's face creates enough interest to hold mine. Rich, I recall the first time I did try that zoom-out or in-movement technique. I was photographing Christmas lights in a downtown near us. You did well with yours, the fact that you maintained perfect lines of lights parallel and intersecting make these both good. Mine never turned out well. Don, Good texture and composition. The colorless capture also suits this topic. Patty, A calming image. I have one to go with yours. IN a few more weeks you will have to return to capture the colors. So, near the end of the video that some of you watched, he (the presenter in the video) suggested DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS! Well, maybe he did not use those terms, but he shared several photos that he took while driving in a car. So, I took some photos yesterday but unfortunately I only had my phone. I couldn't slow my speed down, so I did not achieve much of a blur. Maybe you can find some in the foreground, but it isn't much if any. I still like the photograph and decided to share it with you. Well, time to go sit with my husband and watch the LIONS. I sure hope their defense shows up today. RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Rich - 10-09-2022 Thanks Don, Interesting shot of the bridge. I would sure be interested in the whole bridge if you have one! Thanks Lorell, Bright blue sky and interesting barn! Good one for a drive by! I used to do that driving alone but not anymore. RE: Saturday/Sunday October 8 & 9 - Don - 10-09-2022 Nice image Lorell. You can see the sky showing through the structure. It would be nice to see the barn from all angles. Rich, I don't know that I have a photo of the entire bridge handy, but if you Google "dillingham bridge columbus ga" you will get a lot of hits and some history of the original covered bridge as well. |
