Jack really thinks he's all that, and then some.

Michael,
A proud pup, a dapper dog! Good one!

Here is a pretty pink sunset taken from my balcony  through glass. While I was still the "Official" photographer for the Corn Palace postcard, I would love to have this sky behind the Palace. Unfortunately I only was able to get a pink sky a couple of times as the angle I was shooting at showed the eastern sky. I live about 5 minutes from the palace if the lights are green for me. Sometimes with a good sky I would rush down there and get a good one.

Happy Hump Day.

Michael, that's a good shot of Jack.

Rich, that is a pretty sky, made even prettier by the dark greens.

I was gonna try to fool you all into thinking this was a tall primitive plant somewhere in a dark, primeval rain forest.

Nah -  it's just one tiny carrot seedling among many (probably too many) others growing in a pot in my front yard.

Michael, Jack's portrait is Handsome.
Rich, Pink clouds are great.
Dave, My wife is a carrot top but her hair is orange, not green....

Here is the Twist 60 lens stopped down to f:8 and the swirl is almost gone.

Hiya fellas,
How is everyone today?
I had a fun afternoon.  My husband and I met friends for a birthday celebration today.  Good friends, stories, laughter, and food.

Thanks, Michael, for starting our daily.  Jack looks like he loves to pose.  That pup has a lot of swag.  It is a good portrait and I have decided to follow your lead.  By the way, the RED challenge is still going strong and we should start thinking about what we are going to use for next month's challenge.

Rich, That is a beautiful sky. I like how someone has an American flag hanging from their deck.
Lovely pink and purple color combination.  Nowadays,  with "sky replacement" tools, it would be easy to insert this sky behind the corn palace.  I actually had to point out that I used sky replacement in one of the images I shared at our last club meeting.  The software did such a good job, that no one believed me!  I guess I should have kept my mouth shut.

Dave, so you are growing carrots in your front yard.  Have you done this every year?  I tried growing root vegetables when I first started my garden about 39 years ago, but the carrots were full of worms, some kind of insects that bore into the carrots  Do you have that problem?  I like your lonely carrot stem and how softly it is lit and the dark background with hints of soft greens enhancing the composition.  This is a very nice image.

Grant Ah, I see how that works.  I was not that much of fan of the swirl.  But I do like this effect.  A LOT!

Well, I finished prepping my garden yesterday and feel so proud of myself.  It was a three-day job and I am so happy with myself that I pushed myself to do it. Now it is time to start the fun part of shopping for tomato plants.  That is about all that I grow in my garden.  It works for me though.

Thanks Dave! You do have a forest of carrot tops! Good lighting!

Thanks Grant! Took me three looks before I saw the bee! Twist not as obvious as a wide open lens. I like this effect. I remember a tutorial in a magazine years ago to use your normal lens to produce this effect. I think it involved rotating your camera at a slow shutter speed.

Thanks Lorell! Glad you had a good time!
Yes, the new software would have been nice to have back then.
Always best to be honest!
Good job on the yard work!
Love the bears! They sometimes watch us as much as we watch them! Looks like a nice enclosure too!.
