Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 05-14-2022 It seems like we wait so long for spring and then the month of May just flies by. Oh well, I am not complaining as I look out my window a the beautiful blue skies and trees filling their limbs with beautiful young and perfect green leaves. Here are some spring daffodils that I photographed a the Detroit zoo. I am enjoying Peter's editing software so much, especially now that I am bored with just the ordinary photos that I seem to be taking lately. Have a great Saturday, all. LORELL RE: Saturday, May 14, 2022 - Don - 05-14-2022 Nice artsy image Lorell. Thanks for starting the daily. Seems like folks would rather guess the what is it or post a photo of food than the daily. And that's fine!I can't remember the last time I took a photo and probably won't be doing any until I get to Texas. I've started my packing list and begun gathering "stuff" that I want to take. Trying to pack as light as I can but I'll need clothes for 2 weeks so that will take up space. Fortunately most will be shorts and t-shirts. Also hoping for a break in the heat out there. RE: Saturday, May 14, 2022 - Rich - 05-14-2022 Lorell, very 'Artsy" as Don said. I like it! Shouts spring!! Don, I wonder if we should combine Saturday and Sunday into a Weekender as we did on WC? Have a great trip to Texas! Here are some photos of the 39 Plymouth I posted earlier. RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Don - 05-14-2022 I love all of the old, restored cars. I've thought about having one but I also think it could easily be a money pit! You would have to really love it and have the time to take care of it. I made this into a weekend thread Rich, so we'll see how that goes. I won't be leaving for Texas until a week from Wednesday so I have a little more time to plan. It's going to be different not having my own "space". I'm used to having my own trailer while at the festival. Still, I appreciate my friend letting me stay with him. RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Rich - 05-14-2022 Yes, maybe a weekender will work better, thanks! You're right about a money pit. My buddy in Oklahoma has 60K in a '55 Chevy. If you're looking for one already done the asking price is 80K! I have photos! Your trip will be different for sure without a place to call your home but you will have fun! RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Dreamin - 05-14-2022 Very nice manip, Lorell...I like the composition.....fun! Hi, Don! I haven't taken many/any photos lately either. Rain rain go away!! I need to cut grass, but can't do that, either. Hope you get off okay on your trip. You are always going somewhere!! Hi, Rich! That is snazzy! But as Don said, if you have one, you better have plenty of moolah to put into it! Not a cheap hobby!! I found this in my archives, and thought it reminded me of Lorell's image from the other day, focus on one thing, like her white petal..... RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 05-15-2022 These vintage car people will all have to fit electric motors soon. They won't be able to afford to fill the tank.
RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Don - 05-15-2022 Good morning all. Still early here, of course, but already mild temp. I've been keeping an eye on the temps in Texas where I'll be and it has been in the mid to upper 90's F. Really hoping it will cool a bit before I get there. We typically spend a lot of time outside when at the festival. Nice splash of yellow, with the spider on there. I guess it is a spider? Cool reflections in the droplets too. No new photos, but I'm going to share some from my very first Kerrville Folk Music Festival in 2005. These were all taken with an Olympus D-510z with 25-105mm zoom, 2 megapixel sensor. My how things have changed. The photos show my first view of the festival entrance - Welcome Home. Another shows threatening clouds and the resultant mud when the storm(s) hit. Usually get at least one good thunderstorm while there. Last photo is representative of what you see a lot of, folks just chilling or playing music. I don't anyone pictured here is still coming to the festival. I used the Olympus for a few years, then got a Nikon D500 and eventually a Nikon D7000 (which I still have). It was a memorable first year, as well as all the years that I went. RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 05-15-2022 Like many outdoor music festivals, the weather usually drops in for a visit. I call the water droplets on spider webs like this, 'little baskets of jewels'. Worth getting your knees wet for. RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 14-15, 2022 - Dave - 05-15-2022 Wonderful variety of subjects & styles in the photos here: Lorell's lovely and artistic scene, Rich's always welcome classic car photos, Natalie's superb spider on a blossom image, MFI's exquisite capture of drops in a web, and Don's well-executed (as always) look at the experience of the Folk Music Festival. During a mid-day walk in the heat yesterday, I was completely gobsmacked by this gorgeous electric blue... |
