Weekender, Jan 31st & Feb 1st 2026 - Rich - 01-31-2026 Greetings all! We are finally going to start getting relief from the subzero temps. Getting back to normal with temps in the 30's F. Here is a photo of our public beach taken a couple of days ago. I learned to swim there when we moved to the lake in the mid-1950's. Very nice homes have taken the place of small homes when we lived there. The city has plans to drain the lake this summer to dredge it which they hope will remove the algae problem. Will post another photo when/if that happens. RE: Weekender, Jan 31st & Feb 1st 2026 - Dave - 01-31-2026 Thanks for starting a Weekender, Rich. Your photo reminds me of growing up in Michigan. And why we moved to SoCal over 50 years ago. It also brought back a memory of the time I walked onto a similar frozen lake. Returning about an hour later I found that the ice near shore had melted, and I had to go at least a mile along the shore to find a long boat dock ending in ice thick enough for me to scale the dock to safety, then find my way back along the shore. Just one of many times I endangered myself when I was young and stupid. Maybe this shot of some sort of composite flower that my wife bought, taken yesterday will warm your day... I wish everyone a good weekend. RE: Weekender, Jan 31st & Feb 1st 2026 - Rich - 01-31-2026 Thanks Dave! Your plant does have a wam look to it...nice! Love the way your depth of fields works. Here's just a bubble that sat still long enough. RE: Weekender, Jan 31st & Feb 1st 2026 - Rich - 02-02-2026 Good capture Peter! RE: Weekender, Jan 31st & Feb 1st 2026 - Man From Ironbark - 02-02-2026 Thanks Rich. |
