Weekender 13/14th September 2025 - Man From Ironbark - 09-12-2025

I am not sure if Dragon porn is allowed but I caught these two bearded dragons celebrating spring.

Good morning MIB - interesting photo. Smile

Good luck on your upcoming trip in getting photos. I have several similar ones of clouds and water as the second part of our trip was a bit "weathery". I think I mentioned before that on our first Zodiac boat ride we all got soaked. The worst was getting our shoes wet as it took a long time to dry and the only other pair we had were "dress" shoes for dinner. I had to use a hair dryer to try to speed along the drying process with our sneakers.

Here is Little Stone Church taken on Mackinac Island, an old gas pump on Silver Isle, and kind of an abstract of a leaf, also on Silver Isle ( I think ).

MFI, you were in the right place at the right time to catch the action.

Don, three very nice images, each appealing in its own way. I especially like the Esso pump photo.

Love the church shot and the leaf is quite intriguing as well as interesting play of light.

I always wonder if there is still a rusting out tank with petrol in it under these old bowsers.

Another view of the ringneck parrot.

Lovely parrot and photo, MFI.

Good morning all - MIB, I think the only parrots we have here are probably along the Texas border, and some escapee parakeets in Florida and Texas that have established themselves in the wild. I expect you have more than one species there.

I'm running out of decent photographs from our trip, mostly have travel snapshots of life aboard the ship, etc. The first was taken on Mackinac Island, taken from the sidewalk as we were passing one of the historic houses. I like the symmetry of the shot.  Then there is an old structure on Silver Isle that I turned into a B&W shot, and last is one of the many nice sunrises taken while on the water. For the house, I added a more interesting sky and cloned out a more modern house that we in the background. I think I could have increased the brightness and adjusted the contrast for improvement, but it was just a quick edit job.

Weather here is turning moderate, only 61F right now. I leave 2 weeks from tomorrow for a trip on my Spyder to North Carolina for a few days to attend a Spyder rally. Hopefully weather will be fair and not too cold. That will be the longest one day ride I have done so far.

Try this vimeo. It tells the story. Wink The land of parrots

There are a few documentaries on Australia's parrots and how Australia is also the home of birdsong.

I too like the symmetry of your first shot and the well balanced shades in the B&W. That's one gorgeous sunrise.

Peter, the rites of spring for sure. Lovely parrot.

Don, I have been on Mackinac Island but did not see what you saw. Although I was there in the first decade of the 21st Century. I agree with all the comments made. The historic home and the sunrise are dy...no...mite! Did you make it up to the cupola in the Grand Hotel?

Hi Dave!
