Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Don - 01-01-2025 Hope everyone has a safe, healthy and photographic new year in 2025. RE: Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Rich - 01-01-2025 Thanks Don and the same goes from me to all! RE: Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Man From Ironbark - 01-01-2025 Ah for the sunlit uplands. Photographer, seek ye the light.
RE: Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Rich - 01-01-2025 Interesting viewpoint Peter! RE: Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Man From Ironbark - 01-01-2025 The POV is everything for me and my POV is always a little different or aiming to be a lot different but mainly to try and use the best angle of the light. Most of the time I get it wrong. Thankful I am that I can simply delete these digital photos rather than waste film and chemicals. However I do miss my days in a darkroom. RE: Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Dave - 01-02-2025 Thanks Don. Hi Rich. MFI. I like both of your photos. The first has a lot of energy; IMO this comes from the diagonal slope and the strong value contrasts. And the second has similar value contrasts, pleasing color, and is very well composed. My photographer friend (a much better photographer than I and a wonderful person) spent hours yesterday at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands because word had spread that a Burrowing Owl had been spotted. This owl is nearing Endangered Species status due to unrestrained housing developments shrinking their habitat. It's a very small owl (just over 9 inches or 23 CM high) and I gave us no more than a 25% chance of spotting it. But with help from other photographers there we found it! Later today I'll post at least one of the keeper photos I got that morning. RE: Wednesday, Jan 1, 2025 - Man From Ironbark - 01-02-2025 Thanks Dave. Sounds cool Dave. I have seen burrowing owls on wildlife programs but I doubt I'll ever see one in the wild. |
