Thanks for the link, Rich. Very interesting photos....my Ukrainian parents came over in 1949 but they came through Louisiana, came over on the ship General Howse. The stories those people can tell....I heard many stories.......My parents sent for my grandparents, maybe 1952, they may have come through Ellis Island......I wish I had asked them their stories.

Do you have any contact with remaining relatives in Ukraine?

Mom lost track of her two brothers way back before she ever left Ukraine, before 1944. Never heard from them, but then she was taken into Germany, then went to US. If they had tried to find her, they would not have known where to look. We tried to find her brothers, but to no avail. Posted in a Ukrainian paper out of New York several times. No response. They could have been anywhere in the world....or deceased. My father was an only child, no relatives that I know of. So no, no contacts.

So easy to lose contact during hard times. Wars are very unpleasant times. Names may get changed. Records lost...
