Anyone else not getting email notifications of new posts to threads they have subscribed to?

It happens to me quite often. I am not sure if it is caused by leaving the browser open on FF or not.

Hi Don, Dave, Rich, Patty, and others.
Some great pictures and stories you all shared. trying to catch up here. Been out in the garden picking string beans, tomatoes, and processing some now. Waiting for the oven to finish the roasting process so I can make some tomato sauce. Hate to slice up those wonderful heirlooms but we're getting enough fresh eats from them and will for a while.

Don, almost finished reading Jack Lyndon Thomas's book. I like the way he converses with his bike. I wonder what his bike "the War Horse" would say if he considered a Harley?

Had my BLT's from this Cherokee Purple and after roasting these yummies will be quite tasty.

Yeah, I should have said co-owner. LOL.

I like both images Rich, but the second one pops a little more.

Good looking "maters" there.

Not sure about email notifications, I have never used that.

I managed to get quite a few mini roma tomatoes through the winter. Now it is almost time to put tomatoes out to risk a late frost.

I see that Lorell has been looking at my birds. Hi Lorell. Wink

Thanks for comments about my morning sky photo, damar, Don and Rich.

damar, your son's photo of the racer is superb!

Rich, that looks like a fun PSE effect to experiment with. I think I prefer the first version.

Quint: Cherokee Purple - my second favorite tomato. Expertly grown & photographed.

What a beautifully colored bird, MFI. And a fine capture: the bird and the background share similar colors, the composition is rock-solid, exposure, sharpness and DOF spot-on.

Thanks, Don.
Very nice bird picture, MFIB. He's waiting for something good.
Dave, Cherokee Purple is good but what is you number one? I may have to give it a try.

RE: Thursday 18 August 2022 - Dave - 08-19-2022

Quint,

My #1 favorite tomato, by a large margin, is Black Krim.

RE: Thursday 18 August 2022 - Quint - 08-19-2022

Dave, I have heard but not tried a Black Krim as yet. I am growing and really like the Black Sea Man. I have seeds if you're interested. Paul Robeson I really enjoyed too.

RE: Thursday 18 August 2022 - Dave - 08-19-2022

Quint,

Black Krim tomatoes seem to be low acidic and have a rich, earthy depth of flavor.

The Black Sea Man sounds similar, and I've read that it has a hint of pineapple flavor, which sounds very good.

I would be happy to trade seeds with you, but unfortunately I have only a few Black Krim seeds remaining, and those are destined for a desperate late in the season attempt. I do have extra seeds of various peppers and of lemon cucumbers. I'll PM you later today to see if you want to arrange a swap.
