Hi All, great shots of weekend activities. Quite hot for the coast this weekend. 90's. Plants are loving it though. I've noticed growth the last few days. Quicker than when the temps are lower. Making sure they have adequate water.

That's a very lovely Packard, Lorell.

Winter has finally got colder.

RE: Sat/Sun June 25/26 - Rich - 06-26-2022

Patty, thanks for the comment! It was a good concert. Trees on both side have been leaning for years. Surprised the wind from a thunderstorm doesn't get them. Green now but not getting the rain we need.
Good Hawk shot with the beak wide open. They can be noisy!

Natalie, awesome close ups! Sharp! Good looking cuke!

Lorell, yes bleachers are for the young at heart. Not fun to sit on. I was a little bummed they put one right square in front of the bandstand. Wasn't good for taking photos. I bet you would have enjoyed it. Always fun to share local photo ops! Another Classic car show Wed evening and first Friday on Main.

That memorial service sounds very nice. Would have put a lump in my throat.
I went to a memorial yesterday too. An Army vet so had military honors and playing taps.

On my first duty station in Calif I was picked to play taps at Military funerals.

When I looked at the Packard, my jaw dropped and I sucked in my breath and started drooling! WoW! What a car and the paint job is stunning. Made more so by your expert photo eye! The cloud and sun reflection really sets it off!

Hi Steve and Peter. Looks chilly down under!

Actually, they lied. They said it would be 3˚C but it got down to 1˚C just to prove them dart throwers wrong.

That’s a beautiful Packard, Lorell! Excellent composition and light!

So sorry about your friend and wish her family peace.
It was sweet of you to make and bring one of your beautiful cakes.
We all love you Lorell!
((( hugs )))

Good afternoon all.

Beautiful car Lorell - sorry to hear about your friend but it sounds like there was a good turn out for the memorial. DW got word today that someone she knew passed away. I think she would like to go the funeral but right now we don't know when it will be, and it will be 3 hours away. We both have appointments Tuesday so not sure how it will all work out.

Nice outdoor facility there Rich.

Is that a red-tailed hawk Patty?

Nice bee shots Natalie, and good looking cucumber. One of the tomato plants had one ripe tomato, no bigger than a marble. I don't think DW realized they were going to be so small when she bought the plant. Smile My Serrano peppers are finally starting to produce, and the chili peppers are starting to turn red. I've already eaten one of them.

Pretty chilly temps there Peter. It is still 92F here and it is after 7 PM.

Got in a short 50 mile ride this morning. I passed a cemetery last Tuesday coming home from the photo club meeting and got just a glimpse as I passed, but it looked like it might be a good place to come back to with my 4x5 camera. So I rode back today on the bike and yes, looks promising. Lots of huge trees so I might find a nice shot or two. I plan on taking my Pressman 4x5 as well as my 4x5 pinhole. I will probably only shoot 6 sheets as that is all I can process at one time in the tank.

Lorell, So sorry about your friend....she must have been very special, so many friends in attendance. It was nice of you to bake your friends special cake....and it sounds like the service was extra special, too...
Thank you, and yes, squash blossoms just larger cuke blossoms!
That car, oh, my, that car! Times were fancier back then...your shot is wonderful. They placed that car perfectly for you to get this shot, and you did well taking advantage! The dark background and the skies in the reflections, and that color, oh, the color! Love it! Whitewalls make the car that much fancier...wish they did more whitewalls today!
Patty, nice hawk shot....about the screaming, we have some bald eagles nesting at the neighbor's woods, and their screaming carries far.....I can sympathize....
Dave, that's a great succulent shot....love the colors and the drops of water add interest.
Rich, your life is so much "Richer" than mine. I envy you. Sounds like a very good time was had. If you stood on the top seat, you could have avoided having the bleachers in the shot....BUT, I would probably fall off the bleachers. Being old and on meds, sometimes I get a bit dizzy.....I hate old age......Just 10 years ago I could....oh, well, can't go back again.....
Thanks, Don. Glad the gardens are starting to produce! Last year I planted a tomato I bought from Lowe's. Called Candyland. It's a currant tomato, as the tomatoes are the size of currants. It was the biggest tomato plant I every grew, and had millions of currant size tomatoes. LOL! Tedious to pick but a great snack in the garden if you have people who love to pop tomatoes in their mouths fresh from the vine!! I didn't plant one this year, but hundreds came up where they dropped in the garden!! I would call it an invasive tomato!!
Peter, it's strange to think you are in such cold temps.....while we are sweltering in the 90°F here!

RE: Sat/Sun June 25/26 - damar - 06-27-2022

Thanks you, Natalie!
Candyland tomatoes.
My daughter loves those little sweet tomatoes. I forgot what she calls them.
But I may plant some next year. She puts them on her breakfast plate.

I removed one small tomato with blossom end rot. Here we go...I noticed they bloomed early and fast, starting growing then stopped growing so maybe I should go out and remove the other 3 from that same plant. They aren't getting bigger and they aren't ripening either.

Looks like we have some rain in the forecast. It's getting dry here.
Even bermuda turf is looking poor and its generally very heat tolerant.
(common lawn grass here)

I'm shopping macro lenses but I don't want to spend a lot because I never had any leaning toward
macro photography.
Since I don't get many opportunity's to travel, macro would give me options
anywhere without having to travel far. We are within 30 minutes of the state Botanical Gardens.
I have macro capabilities with my nikons, but I pretty much retired the heavy's. Not going back to lugging
pounds of equipment around.

I'm watching KEH for gently used glass. I have never been disappointed with them or B&H.
Their grading systems are accurate and in my experience better than expected.

Well off to the Monday Daily. If it's not there, I'll get it started.
