RE: Wednesday June 22nd - Rich - 06-22-2022 Patty, Ha, yes, I thought about my selfie when I shot it! It was a magnificent paint job! You had a good car for those days, and you learned how to drive a straight shift! Many cannot! Yes, I saw your nice comment on the sub photos. I remember a few years ago you said never call a yacht a boat. The Navy calls submarines a boat. It was the USS Drum. She had quite a lot of action in WW 2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Drum_(SS-228) You have to be a special type of person to serve on them. Both physically and mentally! I recently read a book about a sub in WW 2 that was sunk and some got out including the skipper to tell the story. Terrifying! RE: Wednesday June 22nd - Dreamin - 06-22-2022 Hi, everyone! Trying to catch up with all the photos and stories! Glad to see so much action! Patty is back and well! Hi!! From Tuesday: Too many for me to comment on all the images, but I did enjoy them all! What struck the me most was Peter's weirdly colored trees! WOW! Looks like somebody got hold of a lot of paint and had a ball!! Patty, I assume you meant your tree was 30 "inches" not feet? That's still a big tree!! It's a shame to lose the lumber! but firewood may come in handy with prices going up on oil and gas and electric! Wow, your daughter is one lucky lady....40 screws! I am glad she has recovered well. Happy Wednesday! Peter, so, you did not get a replacement joint, just got screwed?? AND your foot is broken? You need to slow down, man! Nice jeweled web!! Nice cuke curl, Patty! I never looked that close before. Tomorrow, I will look. I have a few cukes climbing the cattle panel as well! Also a few string beans, a couple of peppers and about 5 different tomatoes. Our blueberries are almost done, it was a bad year, not many berries. The strawberries were a short, poor crop, too. Even our lawns are kinda sparse this year, which is good since my lawn mower broke again, replaced the engine two weeks ago, and this time the PTO switch is not working...... Lorell, that is a great macro shell snail. So pretty!! Pretty skies, Dave....sorry about your garden....as I said above, it's been a weird year.... Rich, again, that's some car! So many vintage beauties. With our humidity, I think the local cars all rusted away. Also, being so close to the ocean, rust happens. You guys have us beat on vintage rides!! Neat reflection n the headlamp! Here are two shots from the other day when I went fishing....Poor little Terrapin.....has a sore mouth from the hook....but I think he's be okay! I had to take a shot of the mouth of the skate. I know those aren't eyes but it sure does look like a face!! Silly face!! RE: Wednesday June 22nd - Rich - 06-22-2022 Thanks Natalie, that is one scary face. I think a horror movie could be made from this. RE: Wednesday June 22nd - damar - 06-23-2022 Hi Rich! Oh that was a sub! Very cool! Tight quarters! Hi Natalie! Good to see you too! Thanks! The ray "face" is fascinating! I have seen people reel them in in FL or coming in through the clear waters of the inlet. Beautiful! Your terrapin has pretty markings! Well I'm going to see if anyone started the daily for today! RE: Wednesday June 22nd - Dave - 06-23-2022 Love that car, Rich. Great styling, great paint job, great name. damar, you asked if my poor gardening result was pollination or weather-related. Since pretty much everything sprouted from the seeds I sowed, I'd have to guess that I didn't water accurately to compensate for higher than normal temps - I probably either over-watered or under-watered. This despite the fact that part of my daily routine is to check the moisture level (and about once a week the pH level). Lorell, I forgot to say that I'm glad you got your camera SNAFU corrected. (I still haven't gotten auto-focus working on my lens.) |
