RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 28, 29, 2022 - Dreamin - 05-29-2022 That's pretty cool, Dave, does the blossom open? RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 28, 29, 2022 - Rich - 05-29-2022 Natalie, I did get some new car shots and a neat motorcycle. Was a good day! Quite a nice closeup of the flower and bee. Sharp, you could count the hairs on its leg! Hi Michael! Dave, I like the shape and color of the leaves. The dried out one adds a bit of interest. Interesting blossom, sharp focus and shallow DOF, perfect! Pete, WoW! Lots of time and talent add up to a super fine image! Well done! Spacing is perfect on the sequence. Too bad about the change in judging procedure. A sign of the times I suppose! Thanks for the positive comments Natalie and other Foto Friends. We got down to the beach around 04:45. The first recorded image was taken at 04:52. The last image with the tip of the moon dropping behind the mountain was taken at 07:29. I took some reference shots of the mountains in the dawn light thereafter, and we left for breakfast around 07:50. The actual start of the eclipse was theoretically 03:32, so the shadow was already there when we arrived. Thus, the image of the initial full moon was not made that night, but came from an image captured in February 2022. regards - Peter RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 28, 29, 2022 - Dreamin - 05-30-2022 That's a lot of patience, Peter. I hope you had comfy chairs, blankets and a thermos of hot coffee!! Thanks for doing this for us all to enjoy! RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 28, 29, 2022 - Dave - 05-30-2022 Natalie, you asked of the succulent blossom opens. I really don't know, but I assume it does. RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 28, 29, 2022 - Dreamin - 05-30-2022 Thanks for the response, Dave. I assume it's another blossom not in your yard. I have some small spreading succulents that opened into yellow star like flowers. Was just wondering. Actually, this is one of 8 or 10 tiny succulents in very small pots that my wife or son has in the inner front yard. (Our inner yard is a small area, fenced in, that provides quite a bit more shade than the larger outer front yard. Lots of these small potted succulents, small pots of various herbs, other flowers that can't tolerate a lot of direct sun, and one large pot of blueberries that my wife is tending.) RE: Saturday & Sunday, May 28, 29, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 05-30-2022 Peter, that needs to be entered into a contest of some kind. It is an OMG image. You skillfully photographed the moon as it crawled across the sky then masterfully compiled your images. YOU MUST print that and display it in your house and other houses too. It is awesome. Dave, there have been times when I go searching for old and dying in nature for often it is more interesting, dramatic, storytelling and unique than a dozen tulips, a row of trees, a pile of rocks, etc. So, what I am saying is that I can relate, especially if you are looking for something different. Your dying yellow leaf is the subject of the composition, without it, there would be no Subject. A photo club member point that out to me once when I posted a photo of an old building with several windows on it. He asked, "what is the main subject of your composition?" And I couldn't tell him. Sharing the beauty in Aging plants, animals, etc., might make for a good challenge topic. Natalie, Your bumblebee is nicely in focus with vivid colors surrounding it. Well done, Natalie. Lorell |
